Welcome to the Moscow Community Center for LGBT+ initiatives (MCC).
This is a safe space for the LGBT+ community, where any person can receive help as well as find understanding and support.
MCC opened its doors on December 1st, 2015. From the very beginning our aim was to create a safe and comfortable space for the LGBT+ community, free of stigma, prejudice, aggression, homophobia and descrimination. Today our centre is the first and only place in Moscow where queer and transgender people can feel safe and free.
Currently Moscow Community Centre for LGBT+ initiatives is responsible for over 20 projects. These projects include, but are not limited to feminist events, groups for transgender and gender non-conforming people, a social club for LGBT parents and families with children, sports and language clubs as well as multiple other projects of significant social importance. Moreover, we offer ever evolving psychological and legal support. Thanks to these services, LGBT+ community is able to receive qualified professional support.
In addition to educational and social activities, master classes and training, MCC regularly offers cultural/entertainment events aimed to unite and build a cohesive community. One of such projects is a festival of open art – “OPENART”. The mission of the festival is to offer and showcase freedom of self-expression, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, religious affiliation and outlook on life. OPENART features photo, painting and graphics exhibits, performances, installations, lectures and master classes.
